WASHINGTON, DC – November 30, 2017 – The Weinberg Group Inc., a Washington, DC, based FDA consulting firm, today released a list of 21 charitable organizations that the firm contributed to on November 28, 2017, or “Giving Tuesday.” The charities that received donations were chosen completely by the firm’s employees.
Every year The Weinberg Group finds multiple ways to give back and help organizations who need public support to continue their mission. As such, this year the company’s CEO, Matthew Weinberg, decided that, for the first time ever, the firm would match any donation made by an employee on Giving Tuesday, up to $500 per employee.
The charities that received donations include:
Donations were made by 16 employees in various amounts ranging from $50 to $1,000. Employee and firm donations totaled $9,911, with The Weinberg Group contributing $4,705.50, and the company’s employees giving $5,205.50 (the $500 difference in the two amounts is due to the fact that one employee decided to make $1,000 in donations, and the company only matched the first $500). The firm did not force its employees to make any donations, it simply afforded additional assistance should anyone want to do so.
One of The Weinberg Group’s core values is passion. The company’s website explains how every consultant is passionate about science and how that passion is obvious in their work; although this is true, what it does not say is that giving back to the community is another thing that the company and all of its employees are also passionate about.
