The Weinberg Group Donates to 21 Charities in Celebration of Giving Tuesday

December 1, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – November 30, 2017 – The Weinberg Group Inc., a Washington, DC, based FDA consulting firm, today released a list of 21 charitable organizations that the firm contributed to on November 28, 2017, or “Giving Tuesday.”  The charities that received donations were chosen completely by the firm’s employees.

Every year The Weinberg Group finds multiple ways to give back and help organizations who need public support to continue their mission.  As such, this year the company’s CEO, Matthew Weinberg, decided that, for the first time ever, the firm would match any donation made by an employee on Giving Tuesday, up to $500 per employee.

The charities that received donations include:

  1. UNICEF USA
  2. Boston Rescue Mission
  3. St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital
  4. Hayden's Heart Inc.
  5. Planned Parenthood
  6. So Others Might Eat (SOME)
  7. Aerie Africa
  8. USA for UNHCR
  9. Emily J. Gervais
  10. Yeshiva Academy
  11. Station North Tool Library
  12. American Cancer Society
  13. American Heart Association
  14. ASPCA
  15. Honor Flight
  16. Direct Relief
  17. World Rescue Institute
  18. Islamic Relief USA
  19. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)
  20. World Central Kitchen
  21. Wounded Warriors Family Support

Donations were made by 16 employees in various amounts ranging from $50 to $1,000.  Employee and firm donations totaled $9,911, with The Weinberg Group contributing $4,705.50, and the company’s employees giving $5,205.50 (the $500 difference in the two amounts is due to the fact that one employee decided to make $1,000 in donations, and the company only matched the first $500).  The firm did not force its employees to make any donations, it simply afforded additional assistance should anyone want to do so.

One of The Weinberg Group’s core values is passion.  The company’s website explains how every consultant is passionate about science and how that passion is obvious in their work; although this is true, what it does not say is that giving back to the community is another thing that the company and all of its employees are also passionate about.

About The Weinberg Group Inc: The Weinberg Group is the world’s leading FDA consultancy, working with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies on FDA, regulatory, and company-related matters for over 34 years.  Founded in 1983, The Weinberg Group has helped countless companies achieve successful interactions with the FDA.  However, the core of the company has always been focused on giving back to the community in any way possible.  Whether it is supporting local and national nonprofit organizations as a company or simply running internal competitions benefiting a good cause, The Weinberg Group is committed to making the world a better place through both medicine and its charitable acts.
