What’s one lesson you’ve learned in this industry that has stuck with you?
You never know what question you will get when you pick up the phone – you need to be professional, compassionate, and concise in your response. Remember the patient that is calling may have just been given a difficult diagnosis and may be overwhelmed and scared. The physician or health care professional needs balanced and up to date information to make the best recommendation or treatment plan for their patient.
Can you tell us what you do?
I provide labeled and off-labeled medical and safety information to health care professionals, patients, and consumers. I also intake and process adverse events and product complaints, run reports and provide metrics to clients, and research data, summarize and provide responses on behalf of clients.
What are the biggest challenges on the horizon for our industry?
Managing all the platforms for medical information inquiries, responses, and safety events. Another challenge from a global perspective is developing responses that comply with country/regional specific guidelines.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I spend time with family and friends (especially my new granddaughter), hike, run, swim, and participate in triathlons!
